Teaching Philosophy

Respecting differences among people is a good start to learn. I believe everyone is different, and everyone will bring his/her unique culture and background into the classroom. I will open my heart to embrace any culture and thoughts. As an international student, I fully understand the feeling of being isolated. Bringing this experience into the classroom, I believe providing students with a supportive classroom is super important, especially for students who come from minority groups. I hope my students can feel a sense of belonging in the classroom. Familiarizing students in the classroom is the first step to create a welcoming environment for students. Small talk before the class, an encouraging word during class, and even a warm greeting after the class make such a difference.

Being a lifelong learner is crucial for educators to address educational disparities in the classroom. By continuously expanding their knowledge and skills, educators can adapt their instructional approaches to meet the evolving needs of students. Lifelong learning enables educators to understand and appreciate diverse cultures, languages, and backgrounds, fostering meaningful connections with students. It also equips them with the ability to identify and overcome barriers to learning, providing personalized support and equal opportunities for all students.
